About

Hello, My name is Mike Strescino. I am a visual artists living and working in Denver CO. Much of my life has been spent in the high desert plains and rocky mountains of Colorado. My entire life I have been creating and always knew my path was set for me. As a child I learned to oil paint from a family friend but as soon as my teenage years rolled around graffiti became my obsession. At 18 years old I moved to Maui with some great friends and spent my early twenties there working construction and figuring out how I would go about my life. This move sparked travel lust in my young spirit and from there I took long backpacking trips to Europe, North and Central America and my favorite regions, South and South East Asia. These adventures were incredibly formative for me and left me no doubt that I would pursue an art career even if it killed me. For some years after my time living in Hawaii and traveling the world I focused on studio painting and mural painting while I was earning a BFA. Eventually this all led me to trying my hand at tattooing. Not sure if it would connect with me as an artist, I hung out at a friends shop for a while to get an idea of what it was like. Learning to tattoo was one of the more challenging endeavors I’ve ever taken on as an artist. Over ten years into it and I’m still humbled by it all the time. I continue to make drawings and paintings along with my tattoo work, though tattooing has taken precedent in my practice over the last several years.

Aside from making art I spend a lot of time meditating, tripping out, reading, exercising and spending time with my family, friends and my dog.
